How to reset the password of SmarterStats without the current password?

Below mentioned are the steps to reset the password of SmarterStats, in case, if you forget the password:

1. Login to Your Windows Server via Remote Desktop
2. Go to Start Menu -> Administrative Tools -> Services.
   
3. Locate the SmarterStats Service and Stop the service.
4. Open My Computer.
   
5. Go to C:\Program Files\SmarterTools\SmarterStats.
   
6. Open the Directory MRS.
   
7. Open the Directory App_Data.
   
8. Open the Directory Config.
   
9. Backup a copy of the file AppConfig.xml.
   
10. Open AppConfig.xml file in Notepad to edit.
    
11. Find the below section in the file:
    <SmarterStatsAdmin> ... </SmarterStatsAdmin>
    <SmarterStatsPassword />
    <SmarterStatsPasswordEnc> ... </SmarterStatsPasswordEnc>
    
12. Remove the above entries from the file AppConfig.xml and save the file.
    
13. Start the SmarterStats Service.
    
14. Browse SmarterStats and enter below default details to login to SmarterStats:
    SiteID: admin
    Username: admin
    Password: admin
