A domain is the primary (main) domain in your account whereas, a sub-domain is a part of your main (primary) domain. These domains/sub-domains can be added/removed using your WbsitePanel Control Panel by following below mentioned steps.
Prerequisites:
A domain/sub-domain can only be removed from the control panel once you have removed all its dependent (child) pointers. Hence, first of all you will have to check if you are using any of the following features for your domain/sub-domain:
- Mail Accounts, Mail Groups, Mail Forwarding, Mail Lists - If you are using any of them, then first remove all of them and then remove your mail domain.
- Website and a pointer - If you are using any website and/or website pointer for your domain/sub-domain then remove them first.
Once you are done with this, follow the below mentioned steps to delete a domain/sub-domain:
- If you have a reseller account / VPS then first click on "All Customers"link.
- It will show you the list of all customers from where click on the customer name for whom you would like to delete a domain/sub-domain.
- It will show you the list of all customers from where click on the customer name for whom you would like to delete a domain/sub-domain.
- If you have a shared hosting account then you will have the following screen before you. Here, click on Domains icon.
- It will show you the list of main domains and sub-domains created under that customer. From where, click on the name of your sub-domain e.g. in our case a sub-domain is "test.accutest.com".
- Once you click on the sub-domain name it will load various options from which click on "Delete" button.
