In Windows Hosting, sometimes you may get this error message: 500 Internal Server Error. This issue can occur for scripts such as ASP, PHP, and CGI or Server Application "/" Error for ASP.NET development.

In this case, if you are using
Microsoft Edge,
  1. Open Microsoft Edge.
  2. Click on the Settings and more (⋯) menu in the top-right corner.

  3. Go to Settings → Default Browser.

  4. Under Internet Explorer Compatibility, enable the option Allow sites to be reloaded in Internet Explorer mode.

  5. Click on Restart to apply the settings.

  6. After restarting, open Settings → Default Browser → Internet Options (this will open a pop-up window).

  7. In the pop-up window, go to the Advanced tab.

  8. Uncheck Show friendly HTTP error messages and click on Apply and OK.

  9. Refresh your browser. You should now see the actual error message from your code.

If you are not using Internet Edge, you need to enable the option Send error message to browsers from IIS. Since your website is hosted on a shared server, you can submit a ticket for the same.
