A strong password provides essential protection from financial fraud and identity theft. One of the most common ways that hackers break into computers is by guessing passwords. Simple and commonly used passwords enable intruders to easily gain access and control of a computing device.
How can you create a strong password?
- Avoid using anything which can found on your social media accounts. (such as your birthday, the name of a child, sports team, pet’s name, etc).
- Make your password at least 12 characters long.
- Use a combination of lowercase and uppercase letters, numbers, and special characters (such as: ?,*! @ <).
- Change your password regularly (approximately every 60 days).
