Selected categories will be displayed at the top of the list, followed by the remaining categories in alphabetical order. Multiple categories can be chosen for a single post. Note that posts exceeding 15 combined categories and tags will not be visible in the WordPress.com Reader.

For a standard blog, it's advisable not to exceed 10.
