Pingback and tracebacks are link notifications that enable you to track when someone links your content on their website or blog; these notifications will appear on the comment section of your post when enabled.
You can refer to the steps listed below to enable/ disable pingback and traceback in WordPress –
1. Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard.
2. On the left side of the pane, click on the Setting >> Discussion.
3. Check (✓) the Allow Link Notifications from other blogs (pingbacks and trackbacks) on new posts to enable the notifications.
4. Similarly, to disable pingback and traceback, you need to uncheck (✖) Allow Link Notifications from other blogs (pingbacks and trackbacks) on new posts to disable the notifications.
Pingback and traceback can also be used by spambots that can use these to spam your website.
