Ping


Ping is a command to check whether a destination computer system is working on a network or not. Ping sends network packets to destination IP address or host. If ping gets success, you will receive the result.

Ping your website in Windows.

  1. Click Start > Run > type cmd and hit enter.
  2. Type ping "your website name"

For example - ping google.com

You will see ping result something like this.

 Pinging google.com [173.194.36.40] with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 173.194.36.40: bytes=32 time=13ms TTL=58
Reply from 173.194.36.40: bytes=32 time=13ms TTL=58
Reply from 173.194.36.40: bytes=32 time=13ms TTL=58
Reply from 173.194.36.40: bytes=32 time=13ms TTL=58

Ping statistics for 173.194.36.40:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 13ms, Maximum = 13ms, Average = 13ms

Tracert


This utility determines the route taken to a destination by sending echo packets to the destination.

  1. Click Start > Run > type cmd and hit enter.
  2. Type Tracert "your web site name"

For example - tracert accuwebhosting.com

You will see tracert result something like this for your website with different IP address and host names.
