How to enable/disable pingback and traceback in WordPress?

Pingback and tracebacks are link notifications which enable you to keep track when someone links your content in their site or blog, These notifications will appear on the comment section of your post when enabled. Please refer to the below steps to enable/disable pingback and traceback.

Note: Pingback and traceback can also be used by spambots that can use it for spamming your website.

  1. Login to your WordPress admin dashboard.

  2. in the left side, pane click on the setting >> discussion.

  3. Tick on the Allow link notifications from other blogs (pingbacks and trackbacks) on new posts to enable it.

  4. Similarly to disable pingback and traceback simply untick Allow link notifications from other blogs (pingbacks and trackbacks) on new posts to enable it.
