How to install NodeJS on Centos with cPanel?

NodeJS is an open-source and cross-platform server environment. It is a JavaScript runtime built on Chrome’s V8 JavaScript engine which uses JavaScript on the server. cPanel had no support for NodeJS in its previous versions. Recently cPanel introduces support with the release of version v80.

Install NodeJS from SSH

We believe you have installed EasyApache on your server.

  1. Login as root from ssh.

  2. Run below command to install NodeJS Package for EasyApache.

# yum install ea-ruby24-mod_passenger ea-apache24-mod_env
# yum install ea-nodejs10

It will install below applications at path /opt/cpanel/ea-nodejs10/bin/ directory.

  • Node.js
  • NPM
  • NPX

Install NodeJS from WHM

  1. Login to WHM Panel using root.

  2. Under Software click on EasyApache 4.



  3. Click on Customize Button.



  4. Click on Additional Packages and enable NodeJS Button and install it and click on Next Button.



  5. Hit Provision Button to install all the selected Packages with NodeJS.



This is it. You have installed NodeJS on Centos.
