Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Recommendation

Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Express is a feature-rich yet FREE data management system. It is far more powerful and reliable than its predecessor Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Express. It delivers a Rich and Reliable data store for lightweight Web Sites and desktop applications.

Following are the minimum hardware and software requirements to install and run SQL Server 2012.

Hard Disk Space
  • SQL Server 2012 requires a minimum of 8 GB of available hard-disk space.
  • Disk space requirements may vary with the SQL Server 2012 components you install.


These are the minimum requirements to run MS SQL Server 2012 with basic components. Windows Operating system along with other software like IIS, WebsitePanel, MySQL and Mail Server will create additional overhead to VPS. In order to prevent your VPS run out of memory, we recommend following VPS configurations.
